Description:  Johns Hopkins Community Physicians seeks a Sr. Instructional Design & Development Specialist to join our team. The Sr. Instructional Design & Development Specialist reports to the Sr. Director Education & Training, Director Education & Nursing, Assistant Director Operations Training, Assistant Director Nursing Practice and Clinical Education, or Assistant Director Learning and Development. Responsible for design, development, implementation, on-going training and facilitation, evaluation of staff development, management development and other training initiatives. Collaborates with managerial and other essential personnel to conduct needs analyses, resolve issues, close performance gaps and facilitate change. This position will provide ongoing development and support in areas such as training design/delivery and evaluation of training outcomes, coaching, team building, supervisory skills and conflict resolution as well as orient all new JHCP staff. The individual in this position may also design training, serve as a resource to JHCP employees, and provide analysis of learning management system (LMS)data.

Requirements: 

  • Knowledge of theory and practice of Instructional Systems Development (ISD), training, organization development, change management, organizational behavior, group development, adult and organizational learning, training implementation, learning facilitation and systems theory generally acquired through Masters Degree work in applied behavioral science or a closely related field required.​​​​​​​
  • Knowledge of high level of proficiency in adult education, training, and group presentation generally acquired through seven (7) to ten (10) years experience. Must be familiar with different approaches to staff and management development and various delivery systems. Must have experience customizing and delivering training modules in a business setting.

  • Required Licensure, Certification, Etc.: Certification in Instructional Systems Design (ISD), Distance Learning or Web-based Training preferred. Other training and development or project management certification is a plus.
  • Work Experience: Work requires seven (7) to ten (10) years of progressive experience preferably in managed care (including curriculum development for IT and Instructional Technology) and demonstrated proficiency in adult education and electronic/computerized training processes. Work requires three to five years of demonstrated training and development experience to include needs assessment and analysis, training design and delivery, group process and other intervention. Experience in staff and management development preferred.
