Summary

Seeking a curious mind and great communicator to support our ongoing efforts to train USAID staff on implementing locally led development programs. You’ll collaborate with our team of subject matter experts to write virtual training facilitation plans, supporting slides and case studies.

Description

Our team is looking for a great communicator and writer to help our team develop engaging training and resources to support USAID staff working in ways that promote local leadership. Your curiosity about how USAID staff do their work will help you ask questions of subject matter experts and distill complex concepts and processes into easy to learn training materials, job aides and case studies.

Your work with our office would include: * Support the design and development of a one hour virtual instructor-led training session on a locally led development approach, including facilitation plan, supporting slides, activity worksheets and session evaluation. If time permits, update materials after course delivery. * Provide facilitation support during training delivery and peer learning events. * Assist with administrative tasks related to training evaluation analysis and other follow up. * Design supporting knowledge products from the training for inclusion in the Local Works Toolbox. This could include a job aid, curated video from a recorded session, or a summary of session outcomes. * Research and develop 1-2 case examples or other knowledge products detailing how local capacity development has been implemented within USAID, including conducting interviews with relevant stakeholders, drafting technical content, and supporting the review and revision process. * Support creation of an engagement plan for sharing the product with Agency staff in collaboration with the Hub’s communications and knowledge management leads. This may include developing newsletter feature stories, presentation materials, and other visual or written materials. *Support other similar training needs as they emerge. While prior experience designing training, writing blogs, or creating visually appealing print and web materials is desirable, your curiosity, analytical and communication skills are equally valuable. If you are skilled in making complex ideas easy to understand, have superior writing and editing skills, and enjoy a mix of independent work and collaborating with subject matter experts, you will excel in this role.
