Position Title: Instructional Designer
Location: Remote East Coast
Description: The instructional designer will collaborate with a team to design, develop, and script student-centered training assets that support a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) contract. The instructional designer will create online, classroom-based, and on-the-job training that meets client goals and objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with technical subject matter experts, other instructional designers, and multimedia team members to write lesson design materials (e.g., lesson narratives, video scripts, activity scripts, assessments, etc.)
- Research technical documentation and interview subject matter experts to develop content outlines and initial drafts on aviation-related subject matter
- Review, edit, and provide feedback on other team members’ drafts and deliverables
- Conduct training needs assessment, task analysis, and other analyses
- Collaborate in creating course design guides or other course blueprint documentation
- Produce training material proofs and final deliverables using Articulate 360, Adobe InDesign, and other industry-standard software
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s of Science Degree from an accredited college or university, instructional design or education major preferred
- 8 years’ relevant experience in writing and creating training materials
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Basic knowledge of Articulate Storyline 360, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and Section 508 compliance
- Expert knowledge of the English language, including grammar and usage
- Writing samples will be required
