Some characteristic of these messages, or the route by which they are being sent (e.g. via a 'blacklisted' site), is resulting in them being assigned a junk-mail score higher than your junk-mail filtering threshold. The simplest solution is to use myUMBC's 'whitelisting' option - messages from a specified email address will always be delivered normally regardless of their junk-mail rating.
