Job TitleHHS Instructional Design Internship

Location: Rockville, MD and remote work

Hours: Average of 10-20 hours per week  

About: The HRSA Learning Institute is the primary training office for the Health Resources and Services Administration, an Operating Division of the Department of Health and Human Services. Their Organizational Development team is looking for a graduate intern with experience in instructional design to work in a client/consultant capacity, with face-to-face meetings occurring at selected points in the project. Intern projects typically run for two to three months, with additional projects available during school break.  This experience will provide the intern with hands-on instructional design experience under the guidance of experienced staff in a federal agency.

Job Responsibilities:
 Design and develop learning product/s for an audience of career federal employees.
Design products for a variety of delivery formats, that may include asynchronous/ asynchronous courses, online/ off-line student work, instructor-led/self-directed learning.
Develop a project plan with milestones, dependencies, and key deliverables.
Periodically brief the client team and other key stakeholders on project progress.
Meet with federal government staff to clarify objectives, outcomes, format preferences, etc.

Key Skills:
Ability to work independently
Enrolled in Instructional Design Graduate Program at least half-time
Strong communication skills
Excellent office computer skills (Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
Software skills related to e-Learning development (i.e. Adobe Connect, Captivate, Lectora, Articulate, etc.)
Strong editing/proof-reading skills grammar, content, format
Compensation: This is an unpaid opportunity under the Federal Student Volunteer Program
